Charles B. Davis

Charles B. Davis is a resident of Devon, Pennsylvania. Charles grew up in North Jersey (just west of The Village) and began formal training on the piano at age five. The grand-nephew of American Composer Marc Blitzstein, Charles played by ear at an early age and was turned-on to jazz improvisation by high school. He has performed with several renowned artists including drummer Van Romaine (Steve Morse Band), trombonist Bob Ferrel (The Duke Ellington Orchestra) and big band composer/arranger Ken Schaphorst (The New England Conservatory). Charles is a founding member of the Charles Davis Quartet and Blue Crab Composition playing both electric/contemporary and acoustic jazz in the Philadelphia area. He is currently working with Rob Williams and Abe Speller as the latest addition to the New Earth Trio.
